dunno, but it could be as simple as that....shrugs shoulders
This was the point I made, they don't say exactly how they measured it to give it an X-star rating...

I am all up for tests personally...but they need to be fair. I think so far some are not convinced, me personally I have not seen enough information on them to make up my own mind - if anyone finds any more detailed reports that would be good...

marks right, Im Indoors had brain injuries in his accident, and lost 2 months of memory, I would be inclined to think that the helmet saved his life.......he doesn't wear any of the above superior expensive helmets.....just the ones he knows from practice to work

I agree there mate doesn't make sense as I know lot of racers do wear arai....

I have 2 lids my RX-7 and a Shark S500, I can't believe its saying my Shark lid is better than my arai. Having worn the shark one then the aria I know what feels and fits better....The shark one is heavy, nosiey and anot as well padded or vented.....I'll go with RX-7 a much nicer, fitting and comfy lid. I don't think you can put a price on your head really

some people seem to be missing the point that the tests dont just name bash particular brands, one arai got 5 stars, its only the condor (arais cheapest lid) which scored less than half.

Dont forget that top racers have their kit specially made, i have dainese leathers but i dont expect them to be as good as rossi's.

Yep a lot of the race helmets are one of spec's designed for them, and in addtion they get sponsorship from that brand of helmet, so some of it might not just be the helmet but money to.
At the end of the day its still a personal choice.

Though I think your find that they haven't tested all helmets yet and that why some are missing.

. . . Arais are hand made hence the cost, like i said-i'll waer what i feel safe in-not what some stupid test SAYS is safe.

You really need to learn to say what you feel instead of beating around the bush & bottling things up all the time.

Why are we arguing it that all helmets are good??? I know that Arai make good helmets but it is possible that they make bad ones too. Its like arguing BMW make nothing but good bikes cus they are so expensive, but some of them are awful.

My four star Shoei Raid II cost me about 160 quid. So I couldn't have bought anything for 200 quid less. I've tried many cheaper lids in the past, but have now decided to stick with Shoei as I like them more and they fit me well.
