XXXX SMART GIRL-----get the bike and I think an A3 or Golf. DIESEL would be a good choice if they are within budget, but only if you do a lot of miles, otherwise just get petrol. Short journeys, best stay away from blue motion.
If you fancy something a bit bigger we have a newish Passat[1year old] diesel which is doing 48-50mpg and we are pleased with it. Don't rule out Volvo diesels our V40 IS COMIMG UP FOR 200,000MILES and still going strong

A3 s-line 2.0 tdi, tremendous cars, lovely to drive, ace mpg, looks the bee's, big enough to get stuff in but don't feel like a big car etc... only con I can think of is that parts are a tad expensive but mine never really went wrong. I lost my mind for 4 months and traded it in for an s4 which did 165mph and 260 miles to a £70 tank of tesco99..

Wish I'd kept it. Get a test drive

Told you they would do a good job--------------just get used to throwing your tail end out and have some fun.

Can't you give the man down at the skidpan a bike smile and catch a bit of time on it with your own car?

Ride comfort, grip and price! A can of seal-a-hole in the boot and fit standard tyres is the way forward...as and when they need doing!
