love my Hornet but ..

At the time of the Mark 1 SV, there was not a great deal of difference in price between
the SV and Hornet, so that was not a factor for me. I test rode the Hornet and it bored me rigid,
to look at and to ride. But hey, that was just my opinion at the time.
It just seems that Suzuki are pretty much 'giving' their bikes away at the moment, and
to that end, I don't think Honda's superior build quality is a good enough factor to choose the Hornet over an SV if you are looking for a new budget middleweight now. imo

Bored you rigid? OMG!

I wouldn't describe a Hairnet as boring, but compared to the SV it's lacking in character. Of course compared to a pointy, there's not much difference between them...

It depends how you ride them. The Hornet can pretty boring if you let it, but ridden right they're an utter hoot. And by "right", I suppose I mean "like a d***" Really properly mucking about on a Hornet is a load of fun, actually more fun than the SV if you ask me. But, and here's the but, the SV's easier to have fun with for me, and more fun more of the time.

I quite agree, Of course I 'ragged' the Hornet when I test rode it. Its top end was nothing special,
but then I did have a Ninja 6R at the time!
People have commented on why I changed the ZX for the SV, and I think you have summed it up
with 'SV's are easier to have fun with, more of the time'
The fact that I have had my SV from new in 2002 and have no intention of changing it
at the moment says a lot. I think that I would have been very bored with a Hornet by now. imo.
