Is that why it's called "progressive" then? Never knew!

They are called "progressive" due to having a tighter winding at the top . The tighter windings absorb smaller bumps and the looser winding part of the spring absorbs the bigger hits .

I knew I knew the difference. You try to give a simple answer without getting mega technical on the guy and someone throws a spanner in. Me sarcky! Never, not in my nature

After reading this tread , i made up my mind and ordered a kit of progressive springs from hiperpro .

And the bike fells a lot better with the new springs fitted , the thing i notice the most is a lot less front dive during hard braking, and i now have a lot more confidence on downhill rides (downhills used to scare the s**t out of me...) , those two things where my main issue whit the sv handling , but not any more

Down side of the new springs is that over large bumps , the front kicks a little more than before , on smaller bumps its perfect and more smooth than before.

Overall im very happy , bike fells more safe and stable , and that results in more fun
Im my opinion its the second best mod to do on a SV , first is new exhaust

When you say "kicks", do you mean you feel the bump in your wrists more as you hit it, or the front getting twitchy?
