So how long does the battery last in an iphone? At present during a busy Test match day I will go through 2 fully charged nokia batteries and sometimes need a third.

depends what ur doing on the iPhone,I would say a heavy day of listening to music and surfing the net/playing with apps the battery will last a day. I generally charge mine everyday anyway.but u can get some decent back up/plug in battery pack/charger things.

it all depends in what ur doing with it.but the way I use mine as mobile/iPod/netbook type thing I would need to charge one of them each night anyway so if I have 1 device but need to charge it everyday I'm no worse off!

oh and the iPhone charges up pretty quick, something like 2/3hrs sees it go to 80% ish charge!

With 3G & wifi off it'll last 2-3 days (72hr ish) standard use on 1 charge.

Yes, I'd imagine you'd do a lot of surfing to relieve the boredom of a Test match.

I charge my iPhone up overnight, every night. Sometimes it still has over 70% charge left, other times it can be only 20%, but I have never had it run out during a day when it was charged the night before. Sometimes I skip the overnight charging to allow the battery to run flat.

Test matches are not boring, you clearly haven't been watching lately. Then again I may have to use the mobile to call the Samaritans in a minute if England continue getting stuuffed in the way they have been for the last 90 minutes.

I like the idea of GPS for when I get lost on the bike (but that only happens when Mr LPH is leading the way! ) and although having a camera and MP3 player is good, I always carry a compact camera in my bag and listen to the radio on my current handset more than music.

So which do you think I should go for?
iphone -- gotme out of "f**k me where am I scenario" on so many oaccasions - usually in the Austrian Alps!

I was talking about MP3's and videos, but ass you say apps is only the apple store. The Nokia you can load you app from everywhere, ovi store, or download off a forum, or the 'supplier' direct.

I have a full touch screen and I can text rather fast now, it was hard at first, before that I had a mini keyboard phone which you text with your thumbs. I can use both types but I find the mini sized thumb keyboard much more responsive, even more so if your trying to type out nice laid out e-mails.

Like all things it depends on what your doing on the phone, the I-phone your have to sort either a extra power pack or a charge point as you can't swap the battery. The Nokia's you can get more batteries, or sort a 'power pack' booster of some sort. Also your current charge kits will work with the this phone so no buying loads of new stuff.
The battery on the N97 mini is a bit more powerfull so it should give a bit more time then your current phone, as the 6500 is quoted as 6 hours talk time and the N97 mini 7 hours.
