I would have to say, (as others before me have) that Stairway to Heaven is probably one of the most recognisable. THere have been enough covers (novelty of otherwise) to introduce it to subsequent generations.

However I'm pretty sure if you played it to a group of 13 year olds the majority of them would be none the wiser.

I would also suggest that somthing like "Live and let die" by Wings.
Again lots of covers introducing to different generations and groups etc.

Plus I think most people would know it as "The theme to that bond film" if nothing else.

I imagine most people would be able to recognise the main "Bond" theme from the first bar too.
