My lovely girlfriend bought me a Vegas holiday for my 30th
![]() We leave on monday and was just wondering if anyone has been and has any suggestions for things that absolutely MUST be done while we're there. We are there Monday to Friday so have a few days to fit stuff in. Cheers Jon |

You could/should go to the Grand Canyon.
If you cant make that go out into the desert and see the Hoover Dam. Just make sure you do hire a car even for one day and go and explore the strange world around Vegas. In fact I would take a two day trip and stay the night away, no bother this time of year. Unless you are a real casino fan theres time to fit a trip in. In Vegas go to the casino that has all the major sights of the world, Venice Paris etc....why go anywhere else ![]() Go and marvel/be appalled at the lions in glass cages in the MGM Grand (if they are still there). |

I've been there quite a few times in the past and recently Sept 2007.
You'll have a great time. I'm not really one for seeing shows etc but you can pretty much do anything you want anytime of the day. Try and go to all the casinos, the decor in some is amazing especially the Venetian and Bellagio. Do some shopping, plenty of shops within many casinos, i.e. Ceasars and venetian. Many casinos have an attraction which are good to see i.e. Venetian, Treasure Island or rollercoaster rides. If you're feeling flush, you can get a helicopter to the Grand Canyon or have a night flight over the cityl, which is pretty cool. You can dine at some fabulous restuarants or just get a snack at a casinos deli. Remember all the time you're gambling you can order as many drinks as you like. What hotel are you staying at? |

Death Valley isn't too far, not much there, but good views.
Stratosphere, go up it. Theres a few good rides at the top. Good to go just before dusk and watch the sun go down around the mountines round the outskirts of vegas. Hoover Damn worth a visit, not too far from Vegas too. Chopper ride over Grand Canyon. You can get them from Vegas. Don't drive, its about 4-5 hours at 100+mph ![]() Go round all the casinos, each one is amazing in its own way. The Vanician (?sp) is simple amazing. Gamble. Go out with $x and use the "if i loose it thats no bother" attitude. If you go and have fun without worrying about winning/loosing, it'll make your time so much better. I was worried at the start, but by day 2 i'd got my head round it and had so much more fun. Under Vegas... http://public.fotki.com/DaimoB/gener...i/usa_holiday/ |

I'd recommend the fixed wing flight to G.Canyon, much cheaper and everyone gets a window seat!
Walk the strip (much further than it looks!). Watch the pirate boat sink, see the fountains, the volcano, New York, New York is impresive to see. Ride the strip in the 'Deuce' bus... the driver has an inside and outside PA and is hilarious... Sit on the side walk side of the bus if possible as the 'victims' are usualy on that side. Watch the overhead light show in the evening at Fremont Street. It's at the far north end of the strip... go by bus! RR |

What is it, about 10 grand to get married in Blighty? Me and Mrs Tiger got married in Vegas for about $300. Car, flowers, video, Elvis impersonator, the whole thing. Highly recommended. ![]() |

Just remember its winter even in LV just now, will be warmer during the day than here but cooler at night. If you go out to DV then be ready to get very cold going over the mountains out of the LV bowl, it was fecking cold on two wheels and that was in UK winter kit
![]() At least you are out there about the right amount of time ![]() |
