Got chatting to a mate in uni today who spent 6 months out in Tanzania and stayed with 6 Masai warriors while out there. Amazingly, they are coming over here to run in the London Marathon to raise money for a bore-hole. They will be the first people to run in the race without numbers as they will be wearing full traditional costume complete with tyre sandals!
There's a bit about it here http://www.thestar.co.uk/business/Sh...hon.3942731.jp I think it's great, especially as most of them have never travelled anywhere before let alone been to a huge city like London! They have a lot of adjusting to do with regards to our culture including having to wear underwear and not spitting in public lol! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770 What does everyone think? |

![]() I think its amazing but, I also think they will end up going home with a lung disease or some other chest problem as they are used to FRESH air. I imagine there lungs are fairly sensitive and not used to preventing infections etc like a typical perons living in a polluted city, and they are going to breathing in alot of crap that they arnt used to. |
