Arrow Crash Protectors - SV650S K6

I bought a pair of original Suzuki crash protectors/(bobbins?) (or as folks here in US call those Frame Sliders) for my SV650S K6. I searched the forum and know how highly people hate original Suzuki crash protectors ; but I wanted these in a hurry and some protection is better than no protection. I will look for R & G when I can spare money for that.
Now coming to the questions:
1. Anyone got a photo of where these go on the SV650S K6?
2. If I could have the name of the mounting bolt (e.g. lower middle, upper middle, etc.) that would be great because I intend on using 'Haynes Service & Repair Manual' for getting the correct torque settings.

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone on the forum knew the answer to my question but I have not put on any crash protectors before and would like to save money by doing it myself.

Thanks all

Assuming you have a faired bike they go where the big metal washer is. The 'washer' should have the same diameter as the bobbin.

My SV650S K6 is with the standard half fairing i.e. no fairing on the lower half.

Thanks,

Check out the R & G website - http://www.rg-racing.com/

All the info is there including photos and fitting guide inc. torque settings

The Suzuki units usually mount to the "front" frame/engine mounting points on each side. This point is at the back side of the front cylinder head. Longer replacement bolts should be provided since they have to be longer than the stock bolts. The "better" aftermarket sliders usually mount to the frame/engine mounting points just to the rear of the ones I've mentioned, as the longer(and larger in diameter) through bolt should be a stronger point.

Does anyone have a website/url that I could access for putting original Suzuki crash protectors ? Could anyone using original Suzuki crash protectors with K6 post a photo on this forum?

Thanks,

Personally with the Suzuki ones, no its not. I think the Suzuki ones did more damage the fairing on Liz's bike than would have been caused if they werent there. When the bike when down the bracket bent and then the bung twisted which then split and cracked the lower fairing.

They really are a complete waste of time IMHO. Save your money and effort up for the R & G's or if you are in the USA have a look at the Motosliders product as that'l probably work out cheaper for you.
