How much do you reckon it's gonna cost me at a dealers?
Also, what bits should they deffo be replacing etc? (am in work, so can't look at my manual) Any tips for things I should check when I pick it up too (apart from brakes/tyres/oil/fluids etc). Not saying they'll make a mistake, but it's easy enough to forget to put something back in/on. Thanks in advance! |

From memory its about £130 ish (was 2 years ago)
Unless you are wanting the dealer stamp then do it yourself - again from memory its Oil and Filter change and a good check over that nothing is loose, Oil and Filter should be about £35 (and thats using the best Castrol stuff that Halfords sell) Check the Haynes manual for the full schedule of work. Just did the 1st (4k) service on my Z750 myself - I figure that the money I save servicing will pay for anything that goes wrong if they refuse a warranty issue based on not having a stamp in the book.

Yes the 15/16k one is the expensive one, it requires the valve clearance check which if it has tightened up is quite involved to change.

oh and the air filter needs checking too. I asked padgetts suzuki if I'd need a new filter at 4k miles, the guy said not really but give it a check. Unbolted the petrol tank and unscrewed the 6 screws holding the airbox down = perfectly fine, gave it a quick suck off with the vacuum cleaner to get rid of any dust or owt

Had the 4k service yesterday £111 which isn't bad I guess. OK the parts only cost around £15-20, but they checked a few things I wasn't sure about (incl. the Scottoiler that I fitted) and spent around 2hrs on it.
