I presume its the same way as a curvy. Put red croc on starter motor bolt(under rubber boot) put black croc on a main frame bolt. Turn on ignition, turn on pack......and clear!!!! oomph it starts. I do it this way as I'm lazy and won't take the seat off to the battery. YC told me to

dunno about pointies...only have curvies

I've used one on my curvey before exactly as dizzyblonde explained how to, but i think with the pointy you need to have enough life in the battery to actually prime the fuel system etc other wise you'll just be spining the motor over with just air going in.

it was whirring but not firing up so presumably there is enough juice. This was a week ago however......

I've had one of hte cheap maplins ones for ages, it's ace. Doesn't hold a charge too well now so I tend to keep it plugged in, but it's still a godsend. And it's got a tyre inflator too, which I use all the time for the pushbikes. Great buy!

Doing it on the battery terminals would prime the fuel system, then you just hit the starter as usual.
