Default Tandem Skydives - whos done one?

me and the mrs are thinking of doing one in may this year (both birthdays in may so would be our pressie to eachother)

now then, my mrs has no fear of hieghts and has always wanted to do a skydive, i however am ****scared of hieghts....

example....when i worked in cyprus i was mates with the people that run the bungee jump there on nissi bay, so could get free bungee jumps when i wanted...i went up a total of 7 times in 6 months...not once could i bring myself to jump..i just froze.

also if anyone is familiar with cyprus and has been cliff jumping at capo greko...you will know its not that high (bout 3 houses tall into deep water)..i spent a lot of time here with mates..would run up and have to stop myself i just couldnt do it....and there would be 10yr olds jumping

so...my thinking is once im up 12000ft in a plane and ive just watched my mrs jump out there is no way i can bottle it right?? i would be tandom so strapped to an instructor...

anyone done one that has a fear of hieghts and have any experience with this?

That's just common sense kicking in isn't it?

Not sure I find the idea of throwing myself out of a perfectly good plane strapped to another human being particularly appealing either.....

Still, to each...

true

I would rather be strapped to a parachute.

still did 17 before an accident on an airfield meant no more

i done mine last summer and can say i am scared of jumping from a height so was apprehensive to say the least, once up there i realise that you dont do any jumping your strapped to a guy/woman who sits on the plane edge whilst you are dangling out of a plane (most bizzare sensation ever) so dont worry about the jumping bit because you dont do it anyway!

Just book it you wont regret it

I have never done a tandem jump.

I have however done 5 static line solo jumps and 10 solo free fall skydives. The last of which involved running down the length of a Hercules and off the tail ramp.

I will never ever do a parachute jump ever again. I get Vertigo you see. But I am one of these people that believe in always trying something before saying you don't like it. This time I did it 15 times before deciding.

Actually that isn't true. I had already decided after the first jump but knew I would regret not having had that once in a lifetime opportunity to do the 15th 'special' jump.

My other half did one a few years back, primarily because she thought she'd overcome her fear of heights/falling. She says it backfired as now she knows it's really scary to fall out of a plane.

I know someone who died during a solo dive, although she did it all the time, so the odds weren't on her side. One of those things I'd like to "try once" rather than do regularly.
