Hello All!
We've all brought laptops and netbooks etc in our house, and decided to decomission the old PC from our conservatory. I've wiped it of users and uneccesairy software and I'm now in the process of uploading our entire CD collection onto it ![]() The idea being that in the near future I will be able to hook it (the PC) up to our amplifier and Tv in our lounge... wirelessly or wired, just not in the same room. I have a Netgear router. The computer runs at 2Ghz, with a gig of RAM. Its an old dear (relatively) but it will be perfect for the job. We dont want to have the PC in the lounge because it is big and white and ugly. and noisy. What can I do/buy to connect the PC with my existing 'home entertainment center' whilst still having control of the music etc. In our lounge we have: 50" Samsung TV Mercury Tannoy speakers Cyrus 1 amp Phillips DVD player. Nothing particularly high tech, but perfect for our needs. Any experience? Please and thankyou Org! Ben. |

This is probably too hi-tech and expensive for your needs, but the demo blew me away! http://www.sonos.com/

No, but that could be an option.
It'd be an upgrade to Blu-ray at the same time. How would I go about connecting it to the PC? Doesn't the Xbox interface with PC too..? subject to buying a wireless adapter or something? |

They both do - the PS3 has two immediate advantages over the XBox in this scenario:
It's a Blu-Ray player. It has an inbuilt WiFi Adaptor. Once you have the PS3, setup of the rest is easy. |
