Default Looking at buying an SV1000 - price advice please.

Hi guys,

I am currently looking at purchasing a SV 1000

I have been offered a 2004 SV 1000 with around 15,000 miles on the clock

Asking price £2000

what would people say is this reasonable?

Steve

Price depends on overall condition and sevice record etc. 2005 + bikes ( black frame & wheels ) are better with more power and shrouded rear shock, but the forks are not as rebuildable as a K3.

This looks a good deal and not far from you but you would need to check it's a full power version and will probably need headlight unit replacing unless he's done it for the MOT.

He has it advertised as a K3 but the bike shown is clearly an SK5.

Theres something not ringing right with that bike, especially the advert
Firstly the F1 is lit up, mine has never come on & it only does when somethings wrong, so somethings up
2nd, theres no way thats a k3 its a k5/k6 sz model (unless someones gone to a lot of trouble to spray the frame/bike etc)
And he also says its got 17k on the clock, but the clock is reading 15k lol
huh?

£2k for a tower of power do all usual stuff, service history, look at consumeables, check its all legit and you've got a LOT of bike for little money there the power is quite addictive

Could it not just be a confusion between it been french/english.
I dont know the structure of the french number plates but unless like ours the year is clearly shown then its an easy mistake to make.
With teh mileage, could that be a mph/kph conversion the 17-15,000 I know the maths isnt close but there could be errors in that also.

... or is that all a little bit far fetched lol.

FI light on because engine isn't running.

Mileage lower because he's done 2000 since taking pictures perhaps?
