Default New chain & sprockets - new whining noise?

I've just fitted a new DID chain and new sprockets to my SV650S K3 and adjusted chain tension to about 25mm (manual says 20-30mm). But the bike's got a new whine.

It's more of a background whine, most noticeable at low speeds (10-40mph), is not gear specific and is loudest when under load (ie: throttling up). I have been told it's quite usual for new chains and/or drive sprockets to whine but this info is anecdotal from other bikers, not from anyone who really knows.

Oil level is OK BTW.

Checked alignment?

Yup. Checked alignment. Chain has a straight run through, no visible kinks etc. Sprockets are on the right way round (tooth count stamp on outside).

If you could see a visible kink in the chain I'd say there is a pretty serious problem!

I'm assuming seeing no kinks wasnt your only way of checking alignment?

I'm not going to preach here as I havent had a new chain and sprockets on my bike yet, but I'm due one now.

I'll let you know if I notice any odd sounds etc!

Did the original front sprocket have a rubber damper? Replacement non-OE front sprockets typically don't come with the rubber damper on the sprocket and I know a few folk who notice a whine after replacing and have put it down to this.

Wheel/sprocket alignment was set using the scales on the swing-arms, first ensuring that the triangular-shaped widgets with the alignment markers were seated centrally on the axle.

I know they're a pretty crude but that's all there is. And, more anecdotal opinion from biker mates, alignment doesn't have to be spot on.

Yup. 145Nm on the front, can't remember what the back was off the top of my head.

Aha, I have no knowledge on what mechanical knowledge you have, was basically just ensuring you weren't just eyeballing the alignment and calling it fine!

Now that has been established - next!
