Default Photo licence renewal - send in the old one?

Mighty org

How many on here have received notification of their photo driving licence needing renewal? You can do so by the power of the interweb if your passport is less than five years old but the instructions say you must send in your old licence. Just curious to see if anyone has held on to their old one until the new one arrived.

On the form you can give a reason why you didn't send your old one back, one of the options is "Destroyed"

Chop it up and burn it to fulfill the requirement.......... AFTER they send you a new one...

I went to the post office and sorted it all out there. They even give you a slip to state yours is in the post. Was worth the extra couple of quid and they take the picture and sorta out the paper work. All you need to do is smile and sign on the digipad. Remember to take the 2nd part with you.

I sent mine back, but if you do make sure that you take a good copy of both sides of both parts before you do.

I've heard of new licenses coming back without the correct categories on them.

My missus got her new one today (change of address) and still hasn't sent the old one back yet. I'm surprised they allow it.
