Default Questions about bar raising and extended cables

Hi,
I have just got a 02 sv650 after 15 years on gs500s and I am loving it.
I have found the riding position much too forward and have got some 3 1/2 risers and a BMW set of handlebars (pictured attached together).
When I measure up it seems I need cables about 8 inches longer to attach these?
I guess the bars are to move 6 inches up and two inches back more or less does this seem excessive I wonder to people out there?
I would like to try it nonetheless and I can always get lower risers if it is no good.
My problem is getting the extended cables for 8 more inches.
I was thinking to buy another set of the electrical cables and splice it it has anyone done this or can offer thoughts?
The brake cables I think could do with changing anyway its done 20k on them
So I just need the clutch, accelerator and brake cables I assume . Can anyone advise where to get them ( I am in London )?
I read somewhere the v strom cables will work and these are longer. Can anyone confirm they are 8 inches or more longer , has anyone done a swap?
Many thanks in advance

Extending the wiring is just a matter of soldering in lengths of wire and shouldn't need anything special, just ensure the wire you use is of suitable size.
Brake hoses can be made by the usual suspects, Hel, Goodridge etc. Or you can buy hose and fittings from Goodridge and make your own, which is easy enough. Tony at Maitland Racing in NW5 can make some for you, call 020 7485 0473.
For control cables contact Venhill or similar and discuss you requirements with them.
