Default SHAMED.

Pointless as this was I had a go at an R1 earlier, he was behind me coming off a roundabout then a lovely long drag style stretch of road in front. Up to about 60 mph the SV held its own quite well I was quite impressed, I was looking at the R1 in my mirror and at 60 mph he popped a wheelie, went past me on one wheel AND WAVED as he went past lol! Plus he went between two cars off in the distance still on one wheel. It was well cool although I felt like a biking microblip.

I need a faster bike. How much would I get for my SV? 2 months old, fully faired, datatool system 3 alarm etc?

Welcome to the dark side, my friend...............

[Although I'm not sure that I like the way that you've dissociated the Hornet and speed...........!!]

No, you don't . Particularly in winter conditions. Trust me, the SV is fast enough to put loads of grins on your face all year long. Learn to ride better and master it before moving on to something else otherwise you're in grave danger of putting your life on the line.

This R1 rider was obviously a bit of a pillock and was riding wrecklessly if he was wheelieing between two cars, the price for which would most likely be a custodial sentence.

When I'd had my SV two months, I too felt it was suddenly slow and hankered after something with more power. After six months I realised that it was quite fast enough for most occasions and after having it for almost two years I can honestly say that I get more fun out of it now than ever - and it's still better than me.

Again, no. The Hornet's a good bike but if you've got an SV now then it won't be any less fun than a Hornet unless, as sometimes happens, you don't get on with a twin and need a less characterful inline four.

The perfect typo - conveys what you meant better than the correct spelling

What is this interest in the H*rnet on the Forum all of a sudden?
R1,s etc. fair enough but a H*rnet?!
IMHO.....Bland, Characterless, Slower (in the real world) and basically not as good a package as the SV. Give it up, please!
No Offence Jabba!

I think we have to be careful here that we don't create a hornets' nest with waspish remarks and bee mindful there are other bikes other than the SV. I though maybe if I was a little honey-tongued then this might stop Jabba from waxing lyrical about his bike. My antennae tell me that I should stop now and wing my way out of here...

Why? With your two tickets already you'll be banned soon. Perhaps start saving for a bus season ticket.

Very Good.
I am certainly mindful that there are other bikes out there....However, this is a SV Forum after all and whilst opinions from riders of other models should be welcomed, lets not start to kid ourselves that the H*rnet is a better bike than the SV.
