Default Insurance rip off

Just moved house, thought I'd let my insurance co. know what my new address is and HEY WHAT! YOUR HAVING A LAUGH £23 aditional premium for what? typing in my new address, to add insult to injury when I challenged this extra cost they offered to reduce it to £13 to HELP meet my costs! as a show of good will, HA WHAT GOOD WILL.
They tell me some CR*P about how the area that I've moved to is rated as a higher risk but I've looked and the local crime rating its exactly the same as my old area.
Has anyone ever been credited for moving into a lower crime rated area? (I've never heard of anyone getting credited for this).
Oh yeh my car insurance co. had no problem with my change of address, mind you my policy was one month from renewal!

SO MY MESSAGE IS BEWARE OF THIS SCAM -
NEARLY FORGOT TO MENTION THE INSURANCE CO. IT WAS THE MOTORCYLE INDIRECT (GET IT!).

WELL THATS GOT THAT OFF MY CHEST.

I used to work for an insurance company and very occasionly I used to give refunds for change of addresses. Not very often mind as the £10 admin fee used to offset that most of the time. From what I remember at that time (11 years ago) Cars were grouped 1-100 but areas were 1-10 with most being 7-10.

I'm insured with the company mentioned above, & have just moved from a low theft area to a very high one (Glasgow City Centre). My policy has 6 months to run.

I called a couple of weeks ago (just before moving) & they quoted approx £100 for the remaining 6 months, which i thought seemed fair as i only pay £220 TPF&T (UNGARAGED!!), am just 23, & have 3 points.

Called yesterday to complete the transaction & they waived the admin fee of £23 & only wanted £53.04 to amend.

Really pleased with their service.

I have had dealings with the same outfit....... Recently changed bikes from SV to a Falco. For the remaining 8 months of the policy they wanted £1300, I was only paying £275 for the SV. Changed broker and started a new policy, premium being £357 for the year. Incredibly it is the same underwriter, when I queried the underwriter they said it was the broker "trying it on" ! And that there additional premium would have been £75 plus an administration fee, by my calculations that is an administration fee of £1225.

I moved from CV47 (Warwickshire) to DE73 (Derbyshire) and got a £38 discount with Rampdale.

No extra cost to change!

Except Bennetts have saved me another £110 this year so I have moved to them

I like insurance company competion :P

I was with Motorcycle Direct until after they wanted to tripple my premium because I had been in a non fault accident. I now get it directly from AXA whom MCD had told me wanted to charge me the extra money.
