Default Ohh well it was nice owning an SVS but times move on.

I am now the proud owner (yes proud ) of a 2004 as brand new BLACK TDM 900 yam.

which due to it's 270 degree crank feels like a v twin.

must say the journey to buy her was painfull on the way out but comfy on the way home.

for 2 or 3 years now my lower back and shoulder (old muscle injury ) pain, had forced this change.

I loved the Sv and all the fun i had on her.

but the new Black Beauty (christened allready) has so far showed me the comfort my old decrepid body deserves. different animal and might slow me down a tad (like hell it will :P )

so i hope by deserting the SV, it does not preclude me from the pennine massive

as the characters/ friends that i have met, I wish to continue knowing and riding with (even if i will be nearer the back )

will post pics when the sun shines (prob never ) and i will be slow for the next 1000 miles at least.

have fun and keep it rubber side down chaps and chapesses.

TDM900? Nice bike.

How does the performance compare to the SV?

Nice one Mark, Just wait until Big Ian reads this.......

You can always come with us on the ex-sver's ride-out (when we arrange one)

I think that they will still let us play out with them if we ask them nicely.

Jo.

Of Course you've broken her in gently untill you got to the bottom... then ridden her hard over Hartside...?

with a mere 100 miles on the clock its early to give a comparison .

but it defo has more torque below 4000 revs ( my limit for 600 miles)

will quite hapilly sit at 80 or more at 4 k in top. pulls quite cleanly from 2.3 k but chuggy below that.

handles well if differently, needs a little countersteering to make her sit down. (due to 18 inch front and 17 inch rear i suspect)

however after 60 miles and some sunny dry roads (even if it were blowing a gale ) i got to within 5mm of the rear tyre

i will stop there for now till i get a few miles under the belt.
I have to set up the suspension to suit me as well (which i must add is very very adjustable (compression and rebound front) comp rebound and damping on the rear

what the SV should have been from day one
