Default Best can for 99 curvy sv650??

Hi Guys,

Still being a newbie to this Im asking for some suggestions for a new can as I have the standard one and sounds pretty tame( want somethin a little bit louder but still legal!). I'm lookin for a can which even a novice like myself can fit w/out too much modification, also wanting to not spend too much cash (as always!!!!).

Any suggestion what to look out for would really be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Phil

Carbon Can Co, £115 off ebay (still direct from them)

Dead easy to fit, if you leave the baffle in it will be legal (id take it out tho!)

Sounds really really good!

If it's just a can you're after then they all fit the same* so the least modification bit don't matter.

Best for what? Being loud/being cheap/being carbon/being an unpronouncable name? No such thing as 'best', within certain very very tight parameters they're all the same anyway, take a makers claim that his wonder pipe will make 5bhp more than any competitors will with an enormous pinch of salt.

*Hacksaw time! Or a grinder if you're posh.

You pays ya money, ya makes ya choice

I got a Blueflame Dual Port (very pretty and very loud when needed), but, and this is big but, they've been very patchy, to the point of utter crap, on build quality and aftersales service!! I only got it 'cause I knew someone who worked there at the time and I got it cheap, so if it dies on me no big deal

Hi pearsoph,

I've got the same dilemma. There are hundreds of posts about this topic and searching them has left me none the wiser... well a little bit wiser. I've decided on a Quill T3. It's really cool. Looks the part, road legal (up to about 4000 revs and then it "opens up" to a roar, local maufacture, has a good rep on the Forums...

Not the cheapest but I've decided its what I really want to I'm saving up for one. I'm also going to have it fitted by a professional cos I'm all thumbs

Default Metal holesaw

Or you could take a 20mm metal holesaw to the baffle down the middle of your existing exhaust! It does work and costs about a tenner from B&Q.

Cheers guys - I'm gonna have a look at the Quill 3 and the carbon can co, I've only been riding a few months but I go along the A40 into london everyday for work and would like the added benefit of a nice loud can warning car drivers of my presence as they seem to drive asleep down ere LOL, or they know your there, they just dont want you to get past them, either way I'm hopin a louder system will keep them off the front of my bike!!! (and save a few of them from loosing their wing mirrors!!)

I really like teh Remuses. Nicely made, look good, sound excellent even when baffled... Leo Vince sound absolutely lovely, well made, but their logo's awful (you reading this Mr Chucka?)
