Hi,
I am getting my wife's sv650sK1 ready for the road again after two years of hibernation. Just changed oil+filter, brake fluid, air filter and took it for a ride. Still as good as new. Just need one more thing, change the coolant. what is the easy way...I don't have the haynes and I am on dial-up with family so cannot browse to long. cheers for your help Dennis ![]() |

10mm headed bolt on water pump (with copper washer) is the drain for the system (on righthand side in front of the clutch cover), you'll have to remove the right (sitting on the bike) fairing panel to get to the filler cap.
Remember 50/50 antifreeze mix with distilled water. Cheers Mark.

The Haynes would tell you to:
drain flush with a hose 'till it runs clean fill with rad flush/water mix run for a while drain flush with a hose 'till it runs clean fill with water run for a while drain flush with a hose 'till it runs clean fit a new drain plug sealing washer fill with water/anti freeze mix run for a while check levels and top as necessary. Don't forget to empty the header tank each time you drain. And check the levels again after a short run as you will probably have a few air bubbles that will work their way out needing a system top up again. .
