Jeez whoever put the front sprocket on my sv was mental!
![]() It took 3 guys an hour to get it off!!!!, they used an air gun machine, brute force, various sockets etc. |

Well it is fitted with a torque something like 150Nm

And the Barbs in the locknut can dig in pretty well getting tighter as you try to undo, I have seen a Srad rear spindle snap because one of these nuts was over tightened...............Another reason for a torque wrench!

When i took the original chain off, it was barely fingertight

Is it a bad idea to go at that bolt with a blow torch?
*braces self for people to roar at me how temperature sensitive the bits behind that nut are* I have always found that if needs be, a scaffold pole extension can get anything off. Or break it. ![]() |

To get mine off a stuck a lump of wood through the rear wheel to stop it spinning, go a mate to hold the bike and then used a long breaker bar to undo it. Remember you need to bend the tabs of the lock washer back first. |
