Change of boots: Battlax 020's

Well had a bit of a slow puncture in my rear tyre & got fed up of spending 20 every couple of days to get the rear blown up again. So when down my garage and had the above put on my bike. Figured I'd get the pair while I was at it.

They seem pretty sticky - but I'm not going to push it...

Question: In urban riding/commuting how long should the breaking in period be?

Hi, i had the same tyres put on my bike, the guy at the tyre place said 100 miles while progressivly increasing the lean angle, there was also a bridgestone poster in the shop that said 100 miles. HTH.

I just had a pair of 020's put on, was recommended to run them in for 100miles. I figure it all depends how much your working them really. I managed to lose the chicken strips by about 300 miles

there really isn't a breaking in period as such, although the tyres do have the residue of release compound on them, tyre places advice 100 miles or so, but obviously if you're riding around mostly upright (which is what tends to happen this time of the year) and not using the sides at all you'll have to watch the lean angles for a while.

Depends on the tyre. I found the 020's were OK after about 80 or so miles. But I've always been told 100 dry miles is th recommended. TBH you'll feel when they are scrubbed in. First 10 miles is always the worst IMHO. Just lean the bike gradually till its scrubbed in.

Troule is with urban / commute riding you wont scrub the edge's of the tyre. Remember this the first time you come to a set of twisties.

Just take it steady and you'll be fine.
