I was actually en-route to Abergele after leaving the office that day (as you can see from the pic, it's the abergele turn of). Whilst not "my exit," it was the one I was using.

Just happened to catch sight of the police car, and so came off the junction before due to an accident on the roundabout just at the bottom of the slip road. Then used the back roads to get through to where I wanted to be

I just didn't explain myself in the original post because I was almost on my way out the door.

Bet you would have been quicker staying on the main road/filtering through any traffic than taking back roads (not saying more fun though )
