Last night I went to bed thinking "Well, it'll be a fun experience riding in snow."
This morning I woke up, looked out the window and thought "Ah, we've been told we can work from home, I can't be ar**d riding to work, perfect excuse!" There's no shame in not riding on a day like this. Anyone who chooses to, and falls, expect a little pointing & laughing at least. You've been warned |

considered taking the bike but someone has parked accross my front entrance so quite a lot of manouvering would be needed. Took the train instead.

It was quite slippery out there this morning. Bike slid down the slope into the alleyway, fishtailed out intot he road as it dropped off the kerb, drifted sideways on the first corner, fishtailed badly beating 2 cars away from the lights (note to self: don't ride like that when it's snowing, especially when the bit in between the cars is 2 inches of slush). Then it was just a case of wincing badly with the visor open for most of the rest of the way as it was too steamed/iced/fozen/snowed up to safely see through.
Got into work and it was worse - they hadn't gritted much and lower traffic volume meant lots more snow. Slid and fishtailed round 3 corners and discovered I was the only bike (out of about 30) in today. Woohoo! I'm hoping it's melted a bit by the time I go home though... good laugh for a one-off. Not sure I fancy it tomorrow when it melts and freezes hard overnight. |

I took the work from home option !
There was no way I was riding my bike on 5inches of fresh snow .. Just received an email that the offices are closing at 12 due to the weather , so really glad I did not go in now Cheers Steve
