is there a guide somewhere on getting the bike setup well to suit the rider..

i have 2001 curvy and as its my first decent bike i dont know if its set up right or not....ie..suspension pre load...also heard that letting forks through yoke a little higher makes a big difference..

search for "setting static sag" or similar - that should help you set the preload front & rear

if you want the bike to turn a bit quicker then consider dropping the yokes down the forks a little. again, search for details, it's been covered lots of times

Indeed however on a 2001 you won't have preload adjusters on the forks, so will have to do it by spacer length, I'd look to change the springs if they haven't been already done at the same time, the rear doesn't have a lot of adjustment as standard, but fitting a SS bike shock is a good upgrade, generally unless you are shorter legged the penalties for dropping the forks threw is prohibative, a better solusion is to raise the rear (either longer shock or "dog bones").

Have at look at the racetech web site for a simplistic explanation of static sage.

But as suggested a search will turn up plenty of results.

Cheers Mark.
