Default Winter fork oil

Does anyone change their fork oil for thinner stuff for the winter??? My forks are noticeably 'slower' this past week (since the temp has plummeted).

I notice a difference. My riding changes to the conditions of the bike and the environment anyway.

Yep, good point. I think if I'd been riding as I do in summer, with the forks as they were on really cold winter days, that would have been a problem but I tend to slow down as the forks stiffen up, so it was just irritating instead of being rubbish.

I'm wondering if the oil thickening in colder weather is why my handling has gone to pieces. I've got 20weight in.

Good excuse anyway.

I actually got off my bike this morning and checked things like the tyre was pumped up and the front spindle was up tight ... it felt that 'wrong' ...

Northy - if anything having a bike that tracks the road is even more importent when conditions are pap ...

Aye, but when conditions are pap I'd back right off to the limits of the bike and tyre, and have no real desire to go faster, see?
