Default Pilot sports? Turn in kinda quick?

Need some quick advice from you tyre gurus.

I'm a strada man through and through and have them on my cbr (m plate) and svs.

Question is I'm testing an 03 cbr600f3 again today as it was a bit windy yesterday to really get a feel for the bike. The bike I'm testing has pilot sports on them. I find them REALLY fast on the turn in and they track every wee bump in the raod. I also find them a bit harder to warm up.

Does anyone know that by switching to say stradas or mez's it would slow the turn in a touchand make the bike feel that wee bit more planted?

Hope this makes sense

Cheers

I doubt it unless you change the profile of the tyre to a flatter version as well. The manufacuturers all work to the same size specs.

You can also adjust the turn in on most bikes anyway by lowering/raising the front of the bike through the forks. E.g. If you lower it the bike will turn in quicker. As I am no expert there is plenty more info on this if you do a quick search through here.

the higher spec Dunlops as well have a softer edge compound and do tend to "drop" that bit quicker, where as the Bridgestones "Roll" more, I tend to prefer Variable banded construction, which allows a little flex in the side walls myself.

Cheers Mark.
