Blue - will find the damper settings but you have to set the sag yourself. I'm using 15mm front and 6mm rear WITHOUT rider (rear measured at the back indicator from the ground). Watch this space...

Right, finally... First off, without stirring the sag thing up again, Colin Leeder of Ohlins told me to measure it without the rider. Add the rider and the figures should be right if the spring weight is right. I'm just under 10 stone nekkid. Anyway:

Front:
sag 17mm
fork oil 15W, std air gap
Racetech emulators with std springs. Not sure of preload on emulator, think it's 3 turns but don't have stupid American 49/89ths of an inch or whatever. Spring length is 26.50mm.
Progressive springs (yeah I know)

Rear:
Sag 6mm
shorter dogbones (JHS) and full ride height
comp 5 clicks from fully in
rebound 16 clicks from fully in

Now with the BT014 rear (old tyre was BT010) I could do without the double-extra ride height as it steers even quicker - but I like it and it doesn't tuck under. A couple of extra clicks of rebound makes the back squirm under power, so don't do it. Hope this helps, be interested to know what works for you. I use these settings for everything!

To the great unwashed (like I was about a week ago ) that's the code for an Ohlins shock for a curvy

Bearing in mind the value of the bike ... I still can't believe I spent that much on a new shock for it ... but it does look smart

Now I have just got to decide which bike to fit it to!!

I've got two of them (for a pointy though)

Oh and nice choice of suppliers. I hear the staff there are quite nice

Here, it says on the spring 1091-31/95 L132 .. anyone know what that means in spring rate???

The stock shock for a 99-02 SV650 has 510# (not sure what units the value 510 is in?!? lb/in??).

So making a guess at units/numbers if that means the spring is 95 N/mm???? then it is 542 lb/in .... so it is stiffer than stock?!!?!?
The bold bit means its 9.5 spring rate.... after that i know nothing!

IIRC the 1091-31 is the part number. 95 is the spring rate and L132 is the length

# = "pound" in american, so lb/inch for spring rate

510lb/inch = (510lb x 0.454 kg/lb)/(25.4mm)

= 9.1kg/mm or 91N/mm or 91kg/cm depending on your units

I can't believe you've spent £400 on a shock that doesn't have high/low speed damping adjustment. tell me it does have ride-height adjustment, at least?
