Umm, issues in wet weather with water ingress into the front cylinder. No one has mentioned this on any of the other sites I have visited.
Please, please tell me now, is there something I should know? |

A fenda extenda (small piece of plastic that extends the front mudguard about 20 quid) or silicone grease (about 5 quid) prevents this happening, although some people don't suffer from it.
I have done and built a home made fenda extenda when caught out! : http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=72070&page=2 |

Cheers Kinvig,
Went to a few bike shops today and everyone was on about getting a faired bike due wind - However, I don't like the riding position on sports bikes. |

![]() you can see the fender extension on my bike; the rear of the front mudgaurd has the black bit attached which keeps the crap off the front cylinder A bellypan might also help to some extent, but the extension is the best thing Matt |

Is there something I should say/
That'd make you come my way/ Do you feel the same/ Coz you don't let it show I had a wee rant/whine about this when I discovered it the hard way - I did not do my homework like you are doing - but like Time In Belgium says not everybody suffers from it. If you don't fancy the fenda extenda because you are a tart like me, the silicone 100% guarantee fix is detailed at post No 22 in this thread. Don't let this put you off... |

Nice one Tiger,
I came across a thread going back to 2004 asking owners of the SV650 to write to Suzuki. How comes this has not been resolved? If it was a Ford / Vauxhall car it would have featured on Watchdog! |

I guess its an easily, and cheaply, solvable problem. Coupled with the fact it only occurs in really bad rain, and that most owners use their SV on sunny days only
