7000mile service is oil/filter change, air filter clean/change. Check & replace spark plugs if needed. Lube various points on the bike, and not that much more that I can remember.

Someone will be along shortly to fill in the gaps in my memory.

I am suggest you be selling bike immediately as you obviously have no use for one.

I'm about to self service my K5.

I had quotes from a Suzuki dealer (on my home PC) and I'm doing it myself mostly to save money. I'll save more than I'd get in extra value when selling the bike over the time\mileage I intend to have it.
Also I have a deep distrust of bike dealerships based on a combination of personal experiance and other peoples recounted experiances.

I'm combining the 4000(12month) and 7500m(24month) services due to me being a bit late on the mileage front and the fact it's not been serviced in 2 years.

That means on top of what Baph said (and I'm going from memory here too) brake fluid wants changing as does coolant. Oh and throttle body balance wants checking though that's prolly going to wait a bit.

I bought the service kit from M&P. £30 for 4l oil, 2 x plugs & a non OEM oil filter. I'm not too keen about the filter but I'm going to risk it. I also bought brake fluid and coolant from them to save hassle. £45 + £5 P&P to my door. I've also bought an ABBA stand to make working on it easier. That was a bit pricey but it is a joy to use and I'm hoping it sees enough use to justify itself.

That all said - If I did your sort of mileage and a dealer quoted £80 to give it a once over change the oil and stamp the book I'd just pay the £80.

You ride a pointy (as I'm now told that poinites are easier to balance than curvies), so give me some time to beat my neighbour with a large blunt object, and bring the bike to Ponderosa again in a couple of weeks or so.

I'll balance your throttle bodies in the car park at Ponderosa for you if you haven't had the chance to get it done before. Subject to weather that is obviously, otherwise we can just find somewhere under cover to do it.

Don't put throttle bodies off for too long, it feels like it runs like a bag of spanners (mine was doing just that this last weekend).

If I've not done it by the time I'm next up you're on!

However I'm hoping that a local friend is going to stick in hand in his pocket, failing that I might have a go at making a DIY one up (there was a link on here somewhere).

I've balanced carbs before, not sure how you'd go about balancing an FI bike?! I thought it did it itself!?
