Well I'll be giving that a go tomorrow as long as the weather hopefully holds out.
So the conclusion at the moment is the signal generator or the loom. The signal gen I can swap but the loom is going to be hard as I have wired the alarm into it. So I will just have to pull the whole lot out and check it all.

I would work my **** off and get the other SV working but I have only one bolt on the front exhaust, and it ain't coming out with out some serious graft. So at the moment it would never pass a MOT, as the last job was to trailer it up to a mate to mig a leaver on to the bolt to work it off. Unless anyone knows another trick?
There is about 10mm of bolt shaft clear from the front cylinder, I was thinking of getting the bike up to temp, spray with plus gas and then working at it with some mole grips.

Well its running, fired her up and both cylinders got hot. But then I notice oil seaping out, which I supect is where the gasget tore. To make it worse I tore the gasget on the other bike too, they just seemed to stick to the casing. In my frustration to get it sealed I have sheered the nut off, bugger.

So I'm going to have to drill that out, good job I have spares. Though I can't get a gasget till tomorrow as no one local has any gasgets in stock, so I'm going to have a busy morning tomorrow.

Once again a last minute rush to get it all done. It's putting a lot of dought in my mind about going now, as it seems like everything is set against me. I want to say stuff it and go and drink some beer at home and maybe go and watch Pirates of the Carabeian.

You can make a decent gasket from a cornflakes packet or using instant gasket. You've come this far and made it work, seems a shame not to push to get the last thing done

join the club. matt sat in three hour exam at mo. he had probs with raptor. balanced throttle wotsits, changed spark caps..to no avail and then noticed..no gaskets. when he bought it they tried to put an exhaust system on that wouldn't go, so put back on the original system ..badly. So gasket on this aft and toes and fingers crossed it magically makes things better. pain in the ****. but at least theres suzy as back up..famous last words!!!

Cornflakes! Well I've spoke to Sid and he said don't worry about it, just get some Hylomar Universal Blue and seal it best up. The bolts are there for to keep the casing on rather then keep sealed as there is no oil preasure.
