Don't HPI your bike to find out - just look on the docs. If it says it's a personal loan (read the small print to check that it's unsecured) just ring BH and tell them you've HPId and it's showing as on the register, and demand they remove it. They're not really supposed to put it on there, so they will do. |

Another option is to stick the outstanding amount on a credit card and then get a 0% balance transfer onto another card, you may even get another couple of months interest free! (Usually a small admin charge but nothing compared to the interest saved)

Mine was dealer too. They'll have nothing to do with it, it's not in their interest particularly to secure the finance on your bike, or it's another thing to potentially stand in the way of you coming back six months later for a GSXR.

Ah b0ll0cks! You only live once, whats a 500 quid loan gonna cost you per month? Less than the broadband link your probably using now. Get the bike you want and enjoy it! No point takin' little green notes in your coffin with you....

Blackhorse dont run scams!..the wrong info has gone onto Experian thats all. Blackhorse know the law better than any of us so it would be crazy to think otherwise (having worked for financial companies prior to running the dealership).
A personal loan wont be against the bike. It is against you. But in some cases blackhorse will still require you to pay this off prior to them lending you anymore money. 0% on the manufacturer backed schemes is against the bike. So when you come to sell the bike it will require paying off. Also when you do a HPI check if they have added finance outstanding when you have a personal loan, more often than not it will state that on the check for clarification. |

Entirely agree. Managing it is a real PIA to make sure you get all the best deals etc. In the end you simply end up sliding further and further under, and once these lenders have got their claws in it's damn difficult to escape. IMHO it really isn't worth all the worry and hassle.
