But people claming for whiplash and other pathetic (and most the time made up for compo reasons) injurys really grip my s**t. Surely one of the reasons we have insurance is to recover these type of costs?? so claiming compo IMO most of the time is pure greed.
Insurance costs what it does because there are 1 million selfish gits driving around without it.

And payment protection on loans/credit is extortionate. Why should anyone run the risk of being made bankrupt because they didn't want to be ripped off? I'm not going to take it out on the off chance someone decides to run me over while I'm out on the bike.

There are enough frivolous claims going on out there for you to get angry about - being put in hospital with broken bones isn't one of them.

ermm neio, mine wasnt a simple break-i spent 15 weeks in plaster and 5 months off work on ssp! i managed to survive (just), my leg wont be the same-ive got scars from burns and i also find it uncomfortable to walk far or wear high heels, its why i also cahnged job as i cant stand all day-i now work in a office whereas i worked in a shop.
Hg doesnt/didnt have a sick pay plan, andc no the compo money wont un-break my leg etc but its a nice payback to my parents who had to take care of me and pay for all my food etc as i was unable to pay them rent!

interesting outlook, having not really worked for 18 months, and not able to use any of my skills for diy, and seriously looking to move house as stairs are just plain painful, my normal life is and will always be more expensive, I fail to see why I should pay the difference, the idea behind the lump sum is to address al the things you wouldn't see straight away.

Now of course all that "apparent whiplash" stuff is a different story, but someone elses stupidity shouldn't cost me for the rest of my life, and fortunately the law agrees.

Cheers Mark.
