Is the can stupidly loud? If it's not I'd not do anything about it, he has just picked on you, maybe just noticing it's aftermarket rather than loud.

The plate must conform to more than just font/size/spacing, it must also have the maker of the plates name and post code on it.

I would assume that they also have to keep a copy of your V5 when they make one up to prove they saw it.

Halfords is just about as cheap as an online place, and due to being walk-in/walk-out, will be quicker
Wrong again, best off if i keep my helpful thoughts to myself..

If you were still in NW1 i.e. a built up area, then a loud exhaust will be considered a noise annoyance. If you were out in the countryside A roads you shouldn't have been prosecuted.

He should have walked twenty yards away from your bike and tried to read the plate, if he didn't do this he shouldn't have given you the ticket. You can't really contest it as you still broke the law, ACPO guidelines are just that, guidelines, if you've already been prosecuted they won't get you off the hook. At most a letter to senior police person saying that you recognise that you broke the law, but thought you would be safe to wait for your V5 due to the above guidelines, might get the officer a mild talking to and a copy of the above put in his hand.

hey ta

I am like a dog with a bone over stuff like this.. just sometimes- as has been said by my ex wife I need to let thing lie and learn from the experience and just "let it go" and get onwith life.. so I am wondering whether this is something that I could make a rod for my own back with..

its just a paintha this was supposed to be a nice rideout and fun at a time when I have had loads of Sh1 goin on and needed a lift. !.
