Pah, the CBR is better than the Gixxer, only thing that would swing it would be the price difference between a 2006 and 2008 bike

Z1000 looks the same TBH - well except for the dual cans and the integrated indy's, which if you didnt want, I would possibly be interested in swapping for (as long as you got a black one :P)

I considered the thou, but the extra cost of insurance put me off, the extra cost of the bike was not THAT big an issue, but I didnt really feel that it was worth the extra. (and that £500 of the extra could go towards improving the suspension to a level beyond that of stock Z1000)

I do see where you are coming from. But after having riddent he Z750 and owned 2 Z1000's I think, while the difference are not huge, it's partly an image thing with the Zed1000. It's such an iconic bike. If I didn't have teh Hornet I would definately be looking at a Z750 though.

Mind you, being a self-confessed tart (see your last reply :P) the Z1000 DOES come in white that would match your white boots :P

Hehehe

I think that the Z1000 is finished more nicely than the 750. Certainly true of the old one.

I am indeed a tart. This would only be reinforced if you met me!

All the write-ups of the Zed say it's damn good on the road. Still, not sure. Big naked or SS600 (just one that's not as focused as the ZX6R was).

The only differences are the indy's the twin cans and the suspension (maybe another couple of little things I am missing - like the intrument panel and cowl surrounding it)

The 08 Z750 has the same engine (sleeved down)

I think the actual finish/build quality is the same - probably exactly the same in so many ways, due to them sharing the frame, so I would assume rear plastics and tank.

When I compared my zed to a 750 it defo looked like more effort had gone in to little finishing touches. Can't think of what offhand but 750 defo looked more budget.

Lol - really looking forwards to meeting you - have been enjoying our discussions on our disparate views on the Hornet :P

I think that ALL of the current SS600's are too focused - one of my original criteria (that I abandoned) was that I wanted a fairing.

So a Zed of soem description it is then - see sorted for ya.
