Yeah I left the bike for a hour or so and then tilted her back to vertical position , to be honest this bike has 6 months warranty on it and I`m taking it back to the garage to sort out , was just hoping I had a definitive answer to this as I`m now very worried that my first ever big bike is gonna be a lemon

Depending on what vacuum setup is you may be able to get a mini G clamp on the pipe to temprarily close it off, not sure the scottoiler microbore stuff would survive this though.
Try take the scottoiler vac pipe off and see if its got oil in it also. You did put the inlet manifold to the top of the oiller right? ![]() Yeah oil level first ... didn't read that bit lol

I wouldn't panic if i were you. It sounds like it just has a little too much oil in. Who services it? |

Vac pipe doesn`t appear to have oil in it , stuck a guitar string up it to test that , black pipe runs from the throttle body to the top of the RMV as per the instructions .

If it were me I'd definately let some of the oil out first and see if that cures it. Its easy enough to undo the sump bolt, or even easier just undo the oil filter and let it drain out that way.
Personally I'd say thinking its the scotoiler is a red herring, I've had them on my bikes for years and they've never caused a problem.

Ideally, a syringe would be the best thing to get a little bit of oil out, if you have one. I assume the engine is now cold? If you let oil out by undoing the sum plug, it will be rather painful putting it back in if the engine is hot. ![]() Righty-tighty lefty-loosey remember, it is easy to forget that when undoing a sump plug. ![]() |
