"It is not a personality contest"
You been reading my post on the other thread Pedro?
I think people dislike Stoner because he is a WASP.
If he got a boyfriend and adopted a new religion hed be fair dinkum.

I enjoyed a lot of the comments on here especially the bit about Stoner not wanting to fight,
well dont forget for years, he has watched Rossi dig deep into Giveupnows head and doesnt want the same thing to happen to him.

Stoners answer is to get as far in front and keep away from that demented shrink on number 46.

He is coming to take you away, heehee.

I think stoner deserves more praise, in fairness, he's so far above every ducati rider it's almost ridiculous. And his desire and commitment to win is almost superhuman.

SHOCK;HORROR;I DON'T BELIEVE IT:

Well guys in order to balance the way that Casey seems to be perceived by many on here.....

Tonight on TVE news they showed a small snapshot of the pre Assen press conference. Sat at the table in between Capirex and Rossi was our boy Casey. You did not pick up what was said, but Rossi was obviously bantering with Loris who was tittering away.

Casey though was a complete giggling wreck with shoulders juddering as he chuckled away.

A point to consider might be this.....although Casey was spotted by Alberto Puig,(Dani's mentor) when quite young,I do not think he has been drilled in PR etc as much as particularly the Spanish boys are. You know? How to conduct yourself in front of the press and crowds when microphones are about?

In fact Marc Marquez the 15 year old is so sensible when being interviewed it is bloody scarey! Dani also is very introverted generally. Even Alvaro Bautista who perhaps had good cause to moan about Simoncellis dive in at him to make him lose his likely win last weekend, though loved by the camera....he never says anything bad and is always smiling.

I'm confused. I thought it wasn't a personality contest? Is it a PR one?

Your asking me? Shucks I dunno. I simply admire guys who can ride a race bike just as I do in my dreams. Whether they treat their mother's well, bathe on a regular basis, speak only when spoken to,smile when required etc etc. Interests me not at all.

P.S Fizz...I had hailed John Hopkins as the daddy of the stand up mile long wheelie after seeing him do it live from track side. I am pleased to now hand that mantle on to Casey as he is much more likely to have cause to produce such a stunt.

It really was a peach, popped it up, wheelie'd on the pegs all the way down to redgate nearly. Right up on the balance point, looking over the screen. Class.

However I think that Hopper still holds the mantle of best strop, after kicking the cack out of his GSVR the other year ( was it 2007 ) so all is not lost
