Default Changing the idle rev's help...

Hello,

right, i went to the meet today which was all good . Some of the guys tried to change the idle revs on the screw thingy on the left hand part of my SV but as it wasen't changing anything they said i've gotta take the seat off to get the under my engine bit... Could someone tell me how i can change the idle revs, where i would find the bit to change it and is it easy please lol? Thanks

Will that cable the were playing with will do it... Only thing is with it being a suzuki the cable can stick. So you will habe to take up the tank and remove the airbox to get to the injectors/carbs and find the cable connecter to the injector/carbs. Make sure it is turning right, if not then try to make it work .

What is it actually Ticking over at? Should be about 1300-1400RPM I think.

Cheers, i'll get on that tomorrow and see what i can do... I shall keep you informed .

Its currently on around 1000RPM when hot but then when i pull up at traffic lights i have to keep it reved a bit just over 1000 so that heats the engine up etc. Cheers for all the help though

I dunno, mine idles at 1K all the time and it never has a problem. It starts first time in all weather except extreme cold, when a little choke for a few minutes will see it going.

Generally if it's set to 1200 ish then it will slowly drop down as the carbs go out of balance, rebalancing the carbs usually puts the speed back up to normal without even touching the adjuster.
