I think you need to point out to her that the reason Big Apes "always where your "F" leathers" post exists, is because he was wearing his kit which stopped him getting chopped in half!!!!

THe over trousers you can get will easy fit in under the seat of the scooty so its not like anyone will actuall see them. As for the jacket, It is very hard to get a lady one that fits properly but there are some nice bargins at the Shows. My good lady wife picked up a fitted one for many cheap bucks at teh NEC last year.

just take her on to you tube and type in americans on bikes and let her sit and watch those dosy gits come off without kit, she may well change her mind.

Save your breath, 16 year olds know everything and you and I are just stupid so don't even bother going there.

I tried to talk to my nephew about wearing proper bike gear, he knows exactly how and why I spent 4 weeks in ICU when I was 19. Apparently looking good and not being laughed at by your idiot mates (who walk everywhere or take buses) is more important than saving your life or saving yuorself from broken bones...so I simply called him a tw4t and walked away. If he wants to ride around in trackie bottoms and a T-shirt then I'll just laugh when he throws himself up the road. He had his warnings and I shall gloat.

I was wearing my jeans when I had my off at 40mph, my bike jacket, gloves and boots did the job, I have a lovely scare on my right hip from where my jacket moved up as it had nothing to be zipped to and my jeans cut into my waist.

Tell her that a scare is less trendy !!! She probably still wont listen tho ... words wall, banging and brick come to mind with teenagers, bless em

So what's the difference between a push bike at 30 and a scooter?

So what's her view on the aprons you get for scooters? for warmth & dry, & Dragin for protection?

How about Girls Bike 2 in Dorking for ladies bike gear, should get a WVAM discount too.

*Ohhh & is there going to be an issue with the helmet a la open face Momo?

Tried the look what happened to bigape thing but there's just no reasoning with her.
She wont wear the over trousers with draggin jeans even if she can hide them under the seat
When is the NECshow?

Yeah tell me about it! Thing is she'll see someone riding their bike in shorts or flipfops or t-shirt and say "what a ****".

Tinker with a 50cc? surely not . The difference is she couldn't ride a push bike at 30mph for 6metres let alone 6 miles.
The apron thing wont work as she wants a geared bike (something along the lines of a DT50) rather than a scoot
She's already got a fullface lid and gloves fcrom when she's gone on the bike with me before but her leathers no longer fit, plus she doesn't want to wear leathers either

In my opinion 16 year olds shouldn't be on anything motorised. Nuff said.

Even though you shouldn't be pandering to her. Tell her as it is. If she doesn't like it she doesn't get the moped. It really isn't that ****ing difficult.

Buy her a push bike.

I heard that New Look are launching a trendy new line of coffins. Sell her that one.

Why?

And how exactly are we pandering to her? The deal is if she wont wear decent gear she doesn't get it. I have no problem with Draggin jeans except the weather issue.

Buy her a push bike.

I heard that New Look are launching a trendy new line of coffins. Sell her that one.

What's the difference between riding a pushbike along a partially unlit A road where people drive like tw*ts along it than riding a 50cc which can do the speed limit along most of the road?

IMO get her the draggin jeans and tell her "told you so" when it's freezing rain and snow. Then you can get her the over trousers.
