Caz mate, sorry to hear this I hope you don;t put the bike away for ever more, you made a good friendly neighbour at the AR08, but I can't blame you if you decide to not bike anymore

May your friend rest in peace

Matt

Sorry for your loss, it's never easy losing mates to accidents on two wheels...I have grown up with bikes, my Dad, and my Uncle's had bikes since I was born. My great grandfather died riding his motorbike...and I lost my first good friend when I was 19 years old.

It didn't make me want to give up, in fact it's made me more determined to stay with two wheels...but this is my choice...

And that's what it boils down to at the end of the day, personal choice. Hope you find something equally thrilling to replace the bikes in your life.

Hi Caz,
Only just seen this. As i have said to mogs in a PM today, every time we push the start button on the bikes we take a risk.
The loss of Tee Jay has hit many peeps very hard. I rode with him on a number of occasions and his loss has made me think alot.
My wifes father was killed on a bike when she was just 13 so she as many have enough cause to dislike bikes, but she has a different outlook on things. She knows i love my bike and she has said that she realises that motorbikes are in my blood and riding them makes me tick. That fact makes motorbikes and riding who i am.
Many people have said the same of Tee Jay, his bike was a huge part of who he was and he passed away doing something he loved. I know its no conselation but its true.

I am so sorry for you loss and i know at this time its hard to deal with. Just remember who you are and what makes you, you. If your bike is part of that then it would be a shame to stop. If its not part of you then as you say its time to stop. Whatever you decide it will be right for you.

You look after yourself and dont be a stranger.

Rick

I have been close to a number of family and friends that have had cancer.....some are still here and some are not. As a child one of my friends died from leukemia at the age of 10, my uncle was diagnosed with bowl cancer and his daughter with leukemia with months of each other, my uncle did not survive it but my cousin is fighting fit. I currently have a friend waiting to die from lung cancer, she's 50. And I, well I had a scare a few years back, which made me think about life.....which brings me to my point, you're born and you die and life is the bit in the middle. You can either live your life or you can just let it pass you by. I'm not saying people should be careless or reckless, but I do believe everyone should have life in their life.....which is why I got back into biking after years away and I only regret not doing it sooner as it makes me feel alive.
Sorry to hear your sad news. I have no idea how i would react but the above are wise words...... I'm glad to see you are keeping the bike until next year at least.

Thanks again for all your kind words ,

My friend Gaz was buried today in a woodland burial site here in Devon .

He had a last ride in a motorcycle hearse to the burial site and then it was quite light hearted for a while as his wicker coffin was taken the last part of the journey to the woods on a cart towed by a Quad bike !! with us following on foot.

I feel so sorry for his Wfe Ellie & daughters Georgia 21 & Eve just 16.

Ps. I think I may carry on riding in the new year.

Thanks again
Caz

Sorry to hear this bud (Sorry it's late but I haven't popped in here in a while). Both myself and Kate send our best wishes to you and your friends family.

If you do decide to give it up, I have a spare pillion seat if you want to ride shotgun at a megaride.

Kindest Regards
Kate
