At the moment, they have the best overall sports bike. Outstanding" and "perfect" says the mags about the new Fireblade. They have the best 600 sports bike. "Honda, this is as good as it gets, please don't change anything" Bike said about the CBR600RR ...and have serious contenders at, or near the top of every other class. So why do they need to release anything this year? They're at the top. You can't whinge that a company that has the best there is out there hasn't made then even better. And could it be that the reason they haven't launched anything this year is that they are planning something *really* special for 2009 and need the extra time to complete it? The V4 Concept in road going trim? Something as special as the R1 was back in 98? Carl |

I went on Saturday, had been looking forward to it for ages. went round the show 2-3 times and saw different bits each time. tried on an alpinestars jacket 3 times before eventually buying it heh. came back with 300 pictures, 100 up on last year heh.
lots of interesting things to see, the bat pod is neat. was nice to see my favourite bike last year is still my fave this year (Sprint ST) just seems the right size for me. the Honda DN01 seems weird, might be good for some people but its so shaped that any taller people can't fit on it, kinda a downside for a bike with no adjustment like a car. anyway, really enjoyed it, hope everyone else has as much fun as I did. oh, saw the usual famous faces too, that was nice, didn't queue up though, life's too short. (or at least the show is heh) |

Good day there yesterday (apart from the 7.5 hour drive back, thanks to all the rubber-neckers crawling past the two accidents on the M6...)
Loads of cracking bikes and ladies on display, oh and who was it that got the last Demo Run on the Ducati 848...? Oh, that would be me then! What a machine, lovely lovely bike, but I could never live with one. Mirrors are there for show, you can see NOTHING in them, NOT A THING!!! Uncomfortable, cramped, but once we got out onto the back roads near the NEC and I opened it up... Wow!!!!! |

I want to go, but from Blackpool is is 50 and 3.5 hours each way on train. 2.5 hours on bike, but weather isn't good enough I feel like risking it. Getting there soaked wouldn't make for a fun day out.

Went today and wasn't totally convinced that it was worth the 17 pounds it cost me to get in! There didn't seem to be a lot actually going on, was basically just a market with a couple of 'ride a bike' things like offroad section etc. Was good the have the opportunity to sit on some nice bikes though.

Went today, billy no mates, all on my own from Felixstowe. Asked a couple of chaps at work, but one didn't (he'd rather pay full price at Hein Gerike) and the other didn't because he didn't know when his mates were going. But because of wife's shifts today was the oly day I could go.
But was worth the trip, as I got a nice Arai to replace my uncomfortble and noisey Airoh. Tried on a Schuberth S1 Pro, but I wasn't convinced at £380 whether it was worth it, wasn't very comfortable. But the lady trying to sell it to me used to have a Curvy she said. Arai cost me £199, although I nearly bought another at £280 (fancy paint job) Got some custom moulded ear plugs, some alloy polishing stuff & some stainless stuff from the Pro Bolt stand. Forgot to get some new gloves & chickened out on buying a one piece leathers. But there were some bargins about. Will probably go to the Excell show, as most of the market stands were the same at both shows. Didn't get time to see any of the bikes, although I saw a few nice rear ends ![]()
