Seen one once before, the bike was sat up for days on end so I guess the strength of the product is good.

I prefer abba stand, then again been working on RD400 today and it's nice to have one on that... but it does weigh nothing.

Yeah, the handy things about ABBA stands is you can get any bike on them (with the correct fitting kit). I have an NWS stand, no extra fitting kits needed and it is rock steady.

This is why I want one too. I keep my SV650 k5 in a shed and without a stand it is impossible to clean or oil the chain. You would have to work on the exposed part, push it one meter and work on it again. Are SV's not normally meant to have centre stands? None available on Suzuki official website either, hence my question.

I bought one of these centre stands from Wemoto, but because I've got Micron header pipes, it wouldn't fit. Might be the case with other non OEM exhausts.

So got an Abba stand off evilbay for £66 (£89 at NEC show)plus 3 fitting kits for other bikes. (Kwak, Yam & Trumpet), although the seller didn't know which was which!

But helpful people at the Abba stand said I could take them to their workshop and they'd tell me which fiting kits were which. Then I can list them on Ebay and recoup a bit of wonga. Which I'll use to buy a specific kit for the SV & a special kit which supports the bike, but allows the swinging arm to be removed.

The pricipal of the Abba stand is that it uses the swinging arm pivot to locate the adaptor for your specific bike. If you change your bike you only need to buy a different fitting kit, not a new stand.

It's a lot more secure than a paddock stand (mine SV has toppled off it's paddock stand twice!), plus it doesn't load the rear shock, so you can work on that. Plus you can lift the front wheel off the ground, which you can't do with a paddock stand.

Check them out and all the other bits and bobs they do.

I'm not a salesman for Abba stands, it's a good product.

I'll give you a tip so you don't have to push it about everywhere. Crouch behind the back wheel and push on the grab rail forward and leftwards (it takes a bit of a nack) it'll push the weight of the bike onto the sidestand a bit, just enough for you to grip the back tyre with your finger between the tread to spin it!

Yes it does work, as this is how I clean and oil my chain, saves walking about with it, and it gives your arms a workout if this skinny burd can do it...so can you

I sold my centre stand, it was very robust and well made, i do hope the new owner has fitted it, and gets some use out of it
