Well I was doing 8 min miles (60/7.5) which isn't too bad, for my second run since christmas, I'll aim to get it down to 7 minute miles

Although my fast route is all on pavement, so not hard running in sand, unlike my long slog runs which are on the soft stuff.

Finally got home at 7:30pm last night and my dad was round to see the kids so me and Mrs H went out and had a 2.5 mile jog, it was drizzling, there was no wind and we ran at her pace.

What a perfect run and way to unwind after a stressful 24+ hours.

Superb, really enjoyed that!

I'm starting kickboxing lessons soon and was wondering what sort of distance or pace I should target to run to be able to complete an hour long training session. At the moment I usually do 80 pushups and run a mile, though I tend to get bored and would rather run faster rather than longer.

is it cardio kickboxing, or propper 1 on 1 kickboxing?

the cardio kickboxing is hard work, im not sure on contact kickboxing,

i guess your doing the mile in -10mins, (man, you get bored easy) try listening to music.

i would say you need to do more distance, if you speed up a bit and get the mile done in say 8 mins, thats only 8mins exercise, and not realy going to help that much.

im doing this saturday morning

Try varying your route to make it more interesting. Running though town can be entertaining. I agree with Hovis, having some music defo helps
but be extra careful crossing roads.

my first 5k race

im not sure if it can be classed as a "race" but it was all very professamaly run, with timmers and laptops etc

first of all, mother manages to lose my 3 day old hilly running socks? there were on the table on thursday, ready for today, i looked everywhere,
so, i jump in the car and it -0.5 although it did not feel that cold, so i get to tescos car park (as the start is just around the corner, and yup, its poo time. anywho i get to the start in plenty of time.

i started off about half way in the pack, and straight away got overtook by about 10 people, one of which can only be discribed as an OAP,

anyway, i get into a nice rythem, and notice errrrr a "fit bird" in front of me, with a pair of skintight almost see through tights......... which was nice, so i stayed behind her enjoying the veiw.

at 3k i had enough of the veiw, upped the pace a bit, so i overtook her

at 4k i was discusted to be overtaken by a woman*

im waiting for the results to be put online, but i realy enjoyed it

got back and mother has still not found my socks

* the woman that overtook me was pushing a double buggy, with 2 young-uns in it,
