Kwak, tell him I'll do it for £150.

Seriously, that's a rip off! All for a stamp!

My K8 4k service cost me £111, the parts were anbout £15-20 from memory. They spent around 2hrs on it though and checked I'd fitted all my mods correctly (incl. Scottoiler).

They are a dealer in Birkenhead.

Interesting discussion about rubber stamps... My OE service books are all empty.

I have always done my own servicing on bikes, cars, trucks and machinery, including during the warranty period. I keep very comprehensive log books detailing exactly what has been done with all of the whens, hows, whys, blah blah blah... which go way beyond just servicing.
Presenting a well maintained bike (or other) for warranty (or resale) with comprehensive documentation has never been an issue. It would be different if it was a bodged and/or neglected POS.
I wouldn't recommend this course to everyone though. The documentation must be accompanied by a high standard of workmanship.

Rubber stamp... pfff!

Cheers

See that's a common sense attitude, whereas with dealers a high standard of workmanship voids the warranty, and a rubber stamp in the book must be accompanied by the result of a ham fisted "fitter" and near total neglect.

If this is an 06 bike its now out of warranty so doing your own service will be much cheaper. If you write in the service book what you have done, any minor loss in resale value will be more than made up by savings in running costs.

this is the way i do it, id rather trust a loving owner than a money making stealer.

I had the same thing when I took my bike along for a sniff of a service , I was quoted in excess of £125 and told them there and then that they were ripping the Urine . They explained that the time taken to get at the spark plugs was where the cost rocketed . I asked them how much for the Service kit Minus the plugs as it didn`t need them , came in at £33 for Suzuki Genuine Air/Oil filter , sump washer (useless and wrong one) . I bought Halford brand oil after reccomendation from a mate who has run a TL on it since forever and set to work . Total cost of around £50 and an hour of my time .............. a worried hour of riding afterwards waiting for something to go bang and checking for leaks but all was well . And as far as a stamp goes ........... piffle I say . The cost saved on my SV servicing costs is worth more to me than the cost knocked off by a Haggler , I service my own bike in my own time and am happy with that as it saves me money for rideouts and stuff . Next service is due shortly and she will get new plugs this time , as far as big services go then fair enough . Gives me a chance to save up for them and book them in .

I also save the receipts of all the items I have bought for that bike to show how it is cared for as well
