I cycle to college, and work, everywhere practically. (as i haven't passed yet, then I become a fuel drinker).
My rule is, if theres ground I'll go across it, whether its up a one way street the wrong way or not, however I'll either go slow or if there is people / lots of vehicles I'll most likely walk my bike up there as I know if I was being charged at with a push bike I'd be certainly ****ed off. A woman argued with me that I should use a cycle lane put by the council on the road, I said I don't contribute any road tax or anything to society other than my leech off the state for my education. The road is one of the busiest through my towns, I said with being knocked off twice on behalf of drivers not giving a **** when they come out junctions would mean I put my life further at risk than quickly cut across some grass to avoid a pedestrian. |

When the idiot ran into me on the pavement a couple of weeks back, He was most abusive about what could have happened if he had fallen into the road. I saw him riding on the pavement yesterday. Strange how he rode onto the road whilst he passed me.
Hurled abuse and got back on the pavement after he had passed. Still no lights. What is it that gives a certain section of the public carte blance to ignore the law. In doing so they create a danger to themselves and others. Yet seem to think the have a divine right to do as they please and nothing is ever their fault. Many years ago I was stopped as a 17 year old riding a pushbike home one very wet night. I had my head down, peddling as fast as I could. The cop car overtook me, slammed his brakes on and I saw him too late and had to overtake him whilst braking. He had a cadet (remember them) with him. He decided that my bike was defective and asked if it was my bike. I told the truth and said no it was my brothers. I thought nothing of it, at dinner the following evening there was a knock at the door and there stood a copper asking for my brother. He was arrested for aiding and abetting my alleged crime by lending me the bike and we both ended up before the beak. Despite my protests that the copper had driven dangerously and I had done well to avoid a collision whilst braking under heavy rain I was convicted. Fined £10 and as a result my brother was also guilty and fined £5. All to give the police cadet court experience at giving perjured evidence. So if plod could enforce minor cycling offences back in 1978, why not now?

![]() VED stands for Vehicle Excise Duty, it's not a tax of emissions, although it's loosely banded by vehicle emissions in private cars <sarcasm> it's a tax levied to "help" maintain the roads </sarcasm> ![]() ![]()

No wonder it keeps going up, the roads around here need a lot of 'help'.

Was this muppet on the pavement? If so then he was breaking the law even more! If not, it really is down to the pedestrian to check BOTH ways in a one way street. As my Motorbike teacher used to say..>Always expect the unexpected! I would hvae called the police, however, by the time they had got there, the bloke probably would have upped and left.
