About the same for both weight and riding position I'd thought.

oh dear, probs gonna offend people now lol
IMHO you get:
sports/supersports: GSXR/R6 or R1/ninja/CBR RR/ducati 1098 etc that kinda thing
then you get the dumbed down sports bikes: CBR Fs
then you get the sports tourers: like the SVs and right at the bottom, fazers
look at the riding positions, GSXRs have the racing positions, the CBR F is slightly more upright, the SV more upright still. the insurance goes the same way too: CBR (109bhp) group 14, SV (70BHP) group 9.
however, im not saying the SV650 couldnt have a sportsbike off the lights, its just the top end they lose out on

There's no point fighting shy of the bike, that won't get you anywhere. Get on and ride, it's the only way. Find a quiet road and build up. I'm no expert and wouldn't dream of giving anyone riding advice other than in the most general terms, but it'll soon all click.

Incidentally I often wondered what happened on the org at night

so It is heavier as you say. The naked SV is upright but the faired are still quite leany-over
Way more power and torque in a CBR if you don't restrict it.

Think the V-twin wins it for me, espically on insurance too.

Do like the CBRF's and how wel they hold their value.

does this mean i actually know what im talking about for once? lol gotta be a first
if its not restricted yesh it has way more power - thought that was a given though? but according to all your SVers, SVs restrict better so you'll probs beat my CBR restrictedly lol
but as i've said before i'll have to let one of you SVers try out the restricted CBR to see if your all right lol

yeah but the 2002 CBR is heavier than the 2008 dry weight of the naked SV, and the 2009 SVsport is heavier than the CBR - it depends on the year your compairing but the CBR is normally heavier
i did do my research
