It sounds about right tbh. My 650 had altered gearing, only a larger rear sprocket, and that meant about an extra 1000RPM for the same speed in top gear.

Well just removed airbox to get to the cards etc and it looks like that the washers for the restriction have already been removed on the bike, which leaves me at a blank now, the bike tops out at 100mph and between 90 to a 100mph is a struggle. however to be fair 0 - 60 feels quik but obviously hard to say as first bike. maybe just age and needs service pos.

I've checked the paperwork for my restrictor kit and it states that it maxes out at 7250rpm - 33bhp..........and is meant to do 87.5mph ish according to the manufacturers. I had to get the carbs balanced last Christmas and I wonder if that has affected it at the top end . It was running v rough and I wanted the dyno technician to stop the bike sounding like a pneumatic drill. I'm guessing that in doing so it now tops out at 70. He did say the carbs need a rebuild but I'll do that when the restrictors come out in a matter of months.

Naked at 33bhp will still indicate 95.

I'm a believer in Murphy's Law etc.....the moment you remove the restrictors......
If I'm to go to the ride out in the peak district I would have to get the carbs seen to. that's what 3 mths away?? and get a new set of tyres.....and a louder exhaust..... |

the suzuki restricter is the carb sliders, basically strip down the carbs and put them back together with the orginal sliders in, or if you dont have them go to suzuki and buy new ones.
i have a 2000 sv650 naked restricted and that will max out at 110-115, that has a suzuki carb restriction. my mates 54 plate sv650s restricted is slower on accelaration and will max at about the same, that has an ECU restriction which im currently working on the remap for him so all we have to do is copy it across to his ECU soon. If your top speed is 70mph i would say the gearing is v. bad and recommend de-restricting it anyway and just say i was told it was restricted and claim you know nothing about it! did someone say they had a '99 with 22k on the clock? my '00 has 13k on the clock now and my mates 54 plate has a few less than me |

I think 115mph from a 33bhp bike is a little optimistic! Mine indicated around 95 - 100 at best.
