Will he still be saying that when he's taking the bus to work?

No insurance on the track unless you pay buckets for it, stack it with gusto and you're walking

Thats what frame/fork sliders are for.

You would be suprised how little damage is normally done most of the time when a bike goes down on the track (except carty's bike although that went down hard, flipped and the frame was fine)

Minimal risk really, you cant let it spoil your fun.

Again its the risk you take but you cant let it spoil your fun, and there is steps you can take to make the damage risk minimal.

I dont think he actually NEEDS his bike to get to uni or work anyway.

Naked one with some crash bungs and hand guards. It is hard work to do any proper damage then!

I don't do track days, but if I did I'd just remove as much of the plastics as I could and use crash bungs to protect the frame. You don't care what it looks like on track and unless your Rossi, wind resistance isn't going to do much to your laptimes, and you don't need a headlight. Even if it did affect your lap times, who cares, you're still having just as much fun trying to get them down.

I bought my track fairings for £250......probably came to £320 by the time I had sprayed them up etc. All food for though.

to carry this on what big twins are out there apart from sv1000 cos i love my sv and tried the il4 with the vfr but (and this will probably sound wrong) my riding style relys on loads of engine braking so would like to stick with one, so again which bike fully faired sports, should be next for me
